to those who got the item glitch

ok for those that got the item glitch where it gave you all the items in seconds. i found out that you dont get items when ur signed out of steam friends. so theres a way to stop it

I may have to try this then. I don't know if it's still effecting me or not but I would like to play TF2 without twelve thousands items flooding me and getting called a hacker. I just hope Valve releases a real patch for it in the next update.

yes i was banned off ego servers because of this dam bug.. and im anouyed about it.. ego servers are 1 of the best around.

knowing (if there is a way to know at all) how to do such exploits is definetly not allowed, but if it is a bug that happens randomly through valve messing their system up, the player should not be held accountable for that happening

Did you fill out a ban contest? We didn't realize it was a bug until after you were banned. Sorry about that.

yes i filled one out. and since the ban i was just searching out ways to stop it happening again. plus the fact i wasnt the only 1 it happend to

Oh that's a shame. You certainly were not at fault sir, considering the hack would somehow need to reach into Steam's servers and modify them directly.

I don't think it's exactly a hack. It may just be the item drop system encountering a glitch in the programming that processes the time people have been in servers and then what to give them, wrong. It work by giving out a hat and a weapon to players every two minutes or so indefinitely. I was on for ten minutes and I was spammed to death. I sent Valve an email and got a reply saying there were aware of the bug and were "looking into it".

So basically, I have to wait till they fix it before I can go into the servers again. I'm scared that I will lose all of my other items or be banned for hacking. It's a VERY nasty glitch/hack.

EDIT: Maybe we can get someone to make a sticky about this issue so if anyone else on the servers gets it, admins won't ban them and will be able to inform everyone, especially those affected by it, on what is going on and what to do.
