My opinion

First I will commend EGO for having some of the top rated servers for DOD:S and INS, grats !! But with being some of the most popular servers you end up getting noob hackers and hardcore hackers trying to earn points on EGO servers. A demo is going to catch your noob hacker....aimbot...LOL . A demo will not catch the hardcore/good hackers .

I know what Mr.S is talking about when he mentions certain hackers on Donner...its pretty bad on the Donner server at times. Even some of the admins will make a comment saying " I know he hacks, but I can't prove it " . let your admins have more leeway when it comes to suspected hackers......demos wont always work. Maybe get 2 or 3 admins to look at the accused hackers game play, and be damned with a demo when the accused has a score of 56-2 with a k98. let the admin give him a verbal and then a short ban time if he continues. I know people are really good at this game and we know who they are, but when a guy can run down main street with his K98 and pick people off in the allied sniper house then switch and kill people in the spawn house and then tank house window...all in about 4 seconds and can do it all the time. Thats a hacker/script writer all day long.

You have a guy who logs on Donner who hacks all the time . A few people called him out and he ADMITTED that he hacks and said he changes his name a lot so people dont recognize him . He also said to demo him all day if you want, a demo will not get him banned. An admin spoke up and the guy logged off . I looked up the guys name and at one time he was a full EGO admin/member.The guy just rapes the server. its people like that who really ruin a server. You train and pick admins pretty well for the most part, give them more power to fight these hackers. Please do something !!! The demo thing just doesnt cut it now....hackers are too good and EGO admins are too hamstrung at the moment.

If you want the name of the admitted hacker PM me .

Admitting to hacking only gains him a kick/ban for disrupting the server. To permanently ban for hacking evidence of hacking must be provided. That is the system we have set and it is a very good one. The human factor involved is what makes it a great system. No proof, no ban. They can be hardcore and great, but we will catch them. And out demo viewers are good at what they do.

Watch this demo and tell me if he is hacking or not?

STRUKOMnomnomnom Demo

I have been playing first person shooting games for 15+ years. I know Im not that good after all this time playing, i know that there is always someone better. yes I understand it is frustraiting to keep getting owned by one guy. I have a friend who can do just that in any first person shooter. even if he has played it only for 10 mins. My friend is just that good. so just dont jump on the the hacker train because part of or the whole team cant seem to kill this player as much as he killes everyone else. I have seen a player go 101 kills over 8 deaths in avalanche. it is sick. but he does it with the grande. or even the bolt action on the german side. just remember, if you truly feel that player x is defying the boundries of the game jump to spec and record a demo. them contact other admins to see if they notice the same problem. hacking is like murder. you have to be able to prove that the person did it. just not accuse.

First off, I want it to be known...at least to the two people who have responded to me so far, I'm not out to pick a fight with EGO higher ups. I respect you folks and when my kids started playing DoD:S I only let them log on to EGO servers because of the " No Foul Language Rule " . They still play on your servers today because they enjoy a clean game...so do I.

First to Frank...he admitted to hacking and was not kicked/banned. He even mocked the the demo process..... I'm just stating what happened that day thats all . His game play, if you can call it that, TOTALLY disrupted the server. Also, I'm not advocating a perma ban . What I am suggesting is this: When someone comes on a server with a questionable background/game play...that person needs to be observed ....then warn them, then let them know they are short banned /kicked until further review. This will AT LEAST let the hackers know you are now cracking down . At the moment, A good a hacker is safe on an EGO as long as he doesnt brag for 20 minutes that he hacks. This policing will not harm your server population at all, it will make it better.

You said that the human factor is what makes your process great. Well, when you dont give the admin powers to kick/short ban someone who is hacking because the demo cant pick it up then there is no human factor...just the demo factor, which is flawed. "No proof...no ban"is not a human factor ....it enables the hackers and hamstrings your admins...who I very much respect by the way.

To Luquidsilk...yea, ive played for 12 plus years and know people who own. I see it on Donner all the time. Im talking about someone who is a known hacker ...admits he hacks...mocks the demosystem and still cant get a ban. So most of what you said has nothing to do with this person...your friend doesnt hack...thats great...this guy does...and so does a few other...but im talking about a guy who admitted it. You folks need to crack down because the hackers see the popularity of the EGO servers and they will keep coming. If you just preach the demo process...then you will end up like the Russian server and Jones servers.

DOD sniper you give me the text where he admits and mocks and i will request a week ban for disrupting the server. We do not think you are here to argue with us, just discussing. I will tell you honestly, as far as i know the system will not change. Unless the player displays clear hacking, speed hack and obvious ones, there will not be a ban issued unless done so by leadership after reviewing a demo which demonstrates hacking.

I will agree the system is not perfect, but it is the way it is to avoid admin abuse and ban people that do not need to be banned. I had bans that were overturned, and it is not a good feeling to ban some one and are wrong. That player might not play on our servers again. We had it happen where admins would ban people that did not hack but seemed that they do, and it was necessary to put this restriction in place.

For a hacker to be banned in game by an admin a clear disruption of the server must occur. The player can head shoot me, wall hack me all he wants, cannot ban. But the good part is if i get a good demo and it shows hacking he will be gone for good. And that is the goal of the system, to get rid of hacker permanently.
