Ok i am buying a new computer and what should o buy from? Ibuypower.com or alienware.com?

In my opinion, Alienware is way overpriced. I'd go IBuyPower. They're also one of our sponsors! But to be honest, I'd highly recommend building your own computer.

I would have to agree with GBear, build your own computer. A lot of people use New Egg I am sure you have heard of it before. I would recommend it though! Newegg has a very large selection of items to choose from and the prices aren't that bad either.

In my opinion I would go to Newegg though, it is your choice.

well if you want to pay for the name of alienware, by all means get one, but id say go ibuypower because theres more bang for your buck IMO. Id gladly let you know how my pc from ibuypower is but im still in the proccess of getting it. The pcs there do looke really nice and i cant wait for mine!

If you need help/opinions on parts you can pm me and ill try to help you pick stuff out.

I have no idea why you would pay for alienware, it's the same prices for a lot more. You can get a lot better parts and customize your computer with a better heatsink etc through ibuypower, customization is key. Alienware is just overpriced componets that people that don't know much about gaming comps buy.

Chem!st is right, also it is a "brand" name so everyone thinks they are getting the best deal. It is like Nike, my sister can make a sweater with the Nike logo on it for $10. Since Nike is a brand name they could probably sell the same sweater for $80

Don't forget about ALL of the sponsors of eGO!

www.cyberpowerpc.com is also a sponsor...
I would agree with everyone else, that Alienware is a "name brand" that everyone (as in all kids that don't know their stuff) wants, but it's simply not worth it.

Good luck with a PC Build. I would try and find someone that you can trust to help you build one... It's much cheaper, and if they're a friend... they might just charge you a six-pack of beer or something ;) (what I paid )

It's not that Alienware is a bad product, they are just overpriced, tech support is not as good (remember, they are partnered with DELL :( ).

I'd recommend iBuypower - very decent stuff, good support, more room to actually 'design' (customize) your PC the way you want it, and it'll be gobs cheaper with better service and support.

Alienware is overpriced garbage. It's like every other car maker, that makes a decent car. BMW, Ferrari, ect.. Take away the badge and it's just another computer.

Don't buy Alienware. Let me tell you a story.. A friend of mine ordered a computer from Alienware and when it got here, we hooked it up and after using it for awhile it just overheated. We tried calling them to figure out what was going on, but Tech Support is a joke. I opened it up and ended up taking off the heatsink on the processor and found NO THERMAL COMPOUND. This is probably one of the most important things that NEEDS to be on a computer. If Alienware can't remember to make sure its on there, they should quit.

So yeah.. don't buy Crapware, get it from iBuyPower. Although, I've always been a fan of building my own rig.

definitely go with ibuypower
like everyone else said alienware is incredibly over priced

i was actually going to buy from ibuypower for my desktop but then i ended up building it myself to save some money. Ibuypower has the lowest prices i have seen besides if you were to build it yourself

Yeah, I would choose IBP over alienware because its cheaper. But if you gotta buy alienware then go for it. Also, as fusion said a lot of people buy from Newegg because they are reliable and have good customer service

Heh, I got a 12 pack.

dude alienware is overpriced, plus if u make it ur self u also could save a couple hundreds and spend them on better equipment

Alienware if your new to gaming computers/dont know which parts are good.
Ibuypower if you are an experienced computer user.

It is more complicated than this. Ibuypower and alienware are two very different companies. One isnt better than the other, it depends on your specific situation.

Your best bet would be to let us know what your budget is, and what you would like to do with your system, and then we could recommend what parts we think you should get.

Considering the amount of info on the web these days, there is absolutely no reason that someone couldn't put together a computer themselves. Unless you don't know how to use a screwdriver I recommend you build your own.

Just let us know what you would like to use your system for, and your expected budget, and I can assure you that you will get proposed "builds" from several people within the hour ;)

post the following:

your budget (where you want to keep it and your absolute maximum):

what games you play:

other uses for the computer:

components you already have (monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse, case, video card, etc.):

Ibuypower is a far better deal for the money,

but some people think Alienware's warranty/reputation is worth it so its really up to you.
