In my opinion, Alienware is way overpriced. I'd go IBuyPower. They're also one of our sponsors! But to be honest, I'd highly recommend building your own computer.

Exactly, I don't like Alienware, I think it looks horrible and janky. I'll go with IbuyPower.

Alienware is overpriced garbage. It's like every other car maker, that makes a decent car. BMW, Ferrari, ect.. Take away the badge and it's just another computer.

AlienWare is one of the most overpriced companies ever to sell a gaming rig. I just recently bought an excellent gaming rig from iBUYPOWER for a total of aprox. $700. That excludes the OS, I already had that. iBUYPOWER isn't exactly cheap for my budget (I had a really low budget), however, it was the cheapest customizable I could find & I like iBUYPOWER for some strange, unknown reason. They even upgraded me on some of the parts (most likely because they didn't have the one I wanted). So, all together, I prefer iBUYPOWER. See the specs below:

It'll take more time, but building your own computer is probably the best choice. You can choose the right parts to fit just your needs, they will cost a lot less, and you'll understand your computer much better come time to upgrade or troubleshoot. And you'll just be that much cooler

More time? Often when you buy computers online you've gotta wait weeks. Order from Newegg on Monday morning, get the parts Wednesday afternoon, build in 1-2 hours, install OS ~1 hour or less.

I used to buy my parts from a little shop in town and since i would help give them business and i exclusively bought my comp parts from them they would kick me some deals. that was a good shop.

Well, if you buy retail then you have to spend days deleting all the bloatware and junk that comes with them.

When I bought my laptop, I bought it with an OEM disc of Vista, just did a clean install. Very worth it in my opinion to have a real OS disc as opposed to the manufacturer's "backup"...

if i had the choice, i would go with neither, building your own is always the best way to go. You cut out the middle man which in this case is alienware and such and in the end you get a better performing and cheaper computer.
