Just a couple sweet and kindly suggestions to all the people who play Jail server:
It is one of the most popular server we have and usually it's full. We have so many pubs and clan members join and play the game. I notice a few things happened recently and should really take into some degree of HUG:
These things all happen with warden role.
1. Trying to become a warden
I have encountered this problem since I joined Jail server and I am new to Jail server just two weeks ago. It is very bad looking in the eyes of the pubs that some of our own members fighting over for warden-ship.
I have heard our own e members yelling at each other, telling each other to shut up. Our very first rule is to be respectful at all time. Some of you are younger than I am but it has nothing to do with player's age. We have eG and eGO that are 13, 14 years old.
A couple days ago I actually stepped in and broke down the fight. I told the CT to choose a warden simply "first come first serve". You may called out and ask to be the next warden at each round or during the round. So we know who's next. I did this to break down the fight and we did have some fun times, instead of having 5 people asking and fighting over the mic.
2. Shut up
This kind of disrespectful remark is not acceptable. Nobody has any "power" to tell any one to shut up. You may ask a player kindly not to talk over you. Even the admin cannot tell someone to "shut up". If they don't accept our "kindly asking" the admin will take action. It is very bad for anybody to say "shut up", espeically over the voice chat. This makes the whole server even more stressful.
In the case I stepped in to break the fight, those players were telling each other to shut up and they started flipping out. A shut up is just as bad as dropping any language bomb over the mic.
Also, don't call anyone "kid" or a bundle "shut up kid". Just because you sound older / you are actually older than some of us, so what?
3. Take role
Warden is not about power - it's about leading the direction. Give it up and let someone else take the role. You can ask if any other CT wants to be the next warden. Here is my suggestion if you think people are acting up on warden-ship:
1. ask to become the next warden at any time of a round, not the starting period of the new round
2. if you want to give up your wardenship, ask if any other CT wants to become the next round warden
3. drop your mic when someone is speaking. - try to avoid the duplication
4. remain temper and have an enjoyful game
I am just a regular player and only because I have this extra GO in my tag and has some admin prilievge, it doesn't mean that I am better than any of you. I have my own crisis and problems. But I try to avoid some of them as much as possible.
This is not any official post by the leadership. It is my personal comment and suggestion. Take it and I will cherish any comment writes to me.
