Negative Novint Falcon Review

lol Ash. Maybe we could take one postdated that long, if it were for $1 million (FYI, I typed "$1 million" slowly, holding my pinky finger to the corner of my mouth, Austin Powers style)

I like the grinninghillbilly quote too - he seems like a funny guy.

thx, tomnovint

Could you ship one now and ill send a postdated cheque to 2030 For $300??

tbh the only problem i had is getting it to work in TF2 and i downloaded the new drivers, and everything and still doesnt work but i still love using the falcon on the games that came with the falcon dont get me wrong, its hard to get used to but when u finally understand how to use it you love it and want to only use it for every game you got lol.

Bummer on TF2 BL4SPH3MY. One thing you might consider doing is uninstalling Steam and TF2 (making sure to manually remove any leftover folders/files) and reinstalling. Sounds like you did, but make sure to completely uninstall Falcon drivers and reinstall from the ones from our website. customersupport [at] novint [dot] com can help out as well.

thx, tomnovint

Gah I want one. If only I had the money or my mom was willing to spend more for my birthday (August 28 by the way).

Sadly I have to buy a new keyboard as the one I have is becoming unresponsive. After that purchase though, if any money magically appears in my pocket it will be going towards a Falcon.

If I could, I'd get a falcon. I would actually 100% love to, but the whole concept is not great for my parents, because I'm prone to break things, so a 100 dollar gaming falcon, as awesome as it is, would be rubble in 15 seconds.I'm surprised Novint actually gave eGO a discount too! 100% great job Mr.Novint!

Props

Hey All, this is tomnovint, Novint's ceo. I was looking over the boards, and saw a negative experience from someone. I thought it would be good to give my two cents on it. Part of the reason I get on the boards is to understand problems and fix them.

I have to say, my respect for the company grew after seeing the time and effort you've put into not just this thread, but your support overall. Don't think I've ever seen the CEO of a company take this much time with "gamers". It is appreciated!

I'm one of the many that grabbed up a Falcon at the reduced price, honestly with the intention of simply reselling it after testing it out for awhile. I ended up enjoying it enough, that I'll be keeping it.

As you stated up front in your original meeting in vent with eGO, it WILL take some time to get used to using it. It does :-)

I've taken to playing in non eGO servers just to avoid the stats drop while I get used to it.

Only suggestion I do have, is that your forums, especially the support forums, get some updates... Took some time to figure out how to get it working in Steam games, and then took more time to figure out where to download them. Would be extremely helpful to have a "Download Most Up To Date Drivers HERE" link/button on the front page.

But, overall, a positive experience for me.
Thanks for taking the time to help out in here, and thank you for choosing eGO :-)

Now if that ain't good customer relations I don't know what is.

Alas, if I only had a Falcon to play around with...I don't think writing a bad review is justifiable as there's nothing there that can be compared to it. Comparing a Falcon to a mouse is like comparing a apple to a potato - sure both are foods, but one grows on trees while the other grows from the ground. (Only an example.)

Well you're special offer was about a month early for me to drop that money, my scholarship check won't arrive till sometime this week. Yes, my scholarship check. oh well any idea when the next one will be?

I read the review you quoted and it was a little disconcerting but I do really appreciate you taking time to defend your product. That says a lot about who you are and how much you believe in your product. I'll be looking forward to the F-Gen drivers release to really see how much it takes off. I hope I'm not in the minority in regards to customer service and problems when I get around to purchasing my own. Thanks again!

There's a good offer available right now as part of the L4D release. You can get a Falcon for as low as $139, which is a great deal still. A month ago, the cheapest you could have gotten one during the previous year was much more expensive than that.

thanks, tomnovint

I'd have to say the Novint Falcon , product and service has been exemplary. Tom really goes out of his way to make sure you enjoy the Falcon. That's far more than I've seen from any company.
A++++++++
Thanks Tom!
