Anyone feeling it?

So the whole game is ruined over the sidestab mechanic, and spies being able to see opponents health?

I think It's quite a characterful update. It doesn't increase the spies survivability, but allows spies to make a better judgement of using the revolver, over a mad rush towards an annonymous Heavy.

Snipers and Engies hugging wall wont be a problem, 3 shots with your revolver and they're down. But if a engie hugs a wall while being covered by his sentry at the same time it could be a problem, but he can't just stand there forever.

OH YES HE CAN! I have seen countless Engineers, upon setting up, pretty much never leave that spot until they die. Indeed, if he has a dispenser with him then in reality he has little to no reason to ever leave that spot, and all the incentive he wants and more to stay put. I mean really, it's not like they don't know a spy is going to come along and get their SG if they leave. Quite the contrary; they're painfully aware of it, and out for vengeance.

Also, I have no idea why people are so upset over spies being able to see the names of the enemy team. The only use I have ever given it was figuring out where the engineer who owns the SG I'm aiming for is (the tactic being I sap it as soon as he leaves the room or dies).

Good players are irritated because players will continuously suicide stab them.

If you actually read my whole first post and my responses, you'd know that's not what I meant.

Anyone here played Battlefield 2? Anyone? Do I see a hand over there?

Yeah, that game didn't really have the "updates" that Valve gives to TF2 and even L4D. And when they did release an update, it broke more gameplay mechanics than Valve could ever hope to break, not to mention the gaping wholes left wide open for the purty-little hackers to exploit. In my opinion, these updates make the game that much more exciting, and besides, would you like to rage over the updates breaking things, or the fact that there are no updates at all?

On-topic, I still don't see who in their right mind thought that it was a good idea to put sidestabs back in. I get "sided" more often than I should. I do, however, agree with the addition of the ammo pack pick-up. As an amateur spy, this is awesome news, because knowing where all the ammo packs are, I could get halfway across, say, Fastlane, take out the teles, and possibly get back in time to help the team cap the next point.

Also, you have to remember, only half of the classes were updated, so a lot of things will be out-of-balance until they get down to the last class. So, if you do decide to take a break from TF2, try it again once that's done. It'll be a whole new game then.

TF2 is getting old, but not becasue of Hitboxes.
More accurately it's becasue it's been out for such a long time, that it feels repetative eventually. The best cure is to remember that it's not there for grinding, but to kick back for an hour or two and frag.
