Dont lotus & sourceop both use fake clients? I think they do.
Pfft, yeah, in Germany. They also like sleeping in trees there http://www.kulturinsel.com/baumhaushotel.html
Does that mean we should all sleep in trees? I think not sir! I'll sleep in my ground-floor abode, thank you very much.
Also: Wasn't Convoy crashing the servers? True though, it was fun.
I agree, you can never ever ever win on that map! I have always gotten a stalemate when playing on the old server that had tc_hydro. :chair:
Owned. HAHAHA
I don't think hydro would be that good.
I'd play on it. Because Hydro isn't often in rotation I don't get to play on it much, even though I've been playing the game for 2 years.
Well I guess I didn't make it clear, but for the past three months (not anymore) I ran a 24/7 hydro server. This was ranked in the top one hundred, but never did level out (meaning the rank was still rising). It was constantly full, and if configured correctly, is extremely fun.
+1
As far as hydro is concerened, I hope they dont make that server...its a complete stale mate and not a very fun map to play on.

Toasted: There are many a good tc map out there
Mainly -
Meridian: A Tropical themed custom ctf tc map (it has a giant robot :])
Others I haven't tried out are:
http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/48342
http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/60761 <- I had a quick 5 mins on an empty server with this one
http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/65521 <- looks promising
Valve I guess haven't developed it because Hydro was their pride and joy for the first release of TF2, and it failed.

Everyone's sense of humor just curls up and dies when they're all gung-ho about something. You want serious facts? Fine then.
TC_Hydro was released by Valve over a year ago. Your much-touted hydro server is ranked 49. Everyone in the world has this map, yet there is only one server devoted to it. The most anyone has played on it is 193 hours.
For comparison: CP_BlackMesa was finished earlier this year. Our Blackmesa server is ranked 64. People have to choose to download this map to play on it. The most played here is 550 hours (Goretex).
What this means:
TC_Hydro has a huge install base, but very few users who don't use it very much. If there was enough of a clamor for it, new servers would've opened by now as it would take no effort at all to get one running.

I know of at least one server that surpasses all our servers in rank right now.
With our highest 10 ranks lower. I think this is the proof (and the only 24/7 hydro I can find out there, it seems to be on rotation more than anything)
So... umm. Yeah.
EDIT:
Guess you could say the same about other maps, warpath, arena and so on. Although, there are some servers with high ranked of each of these.
EDIT THE SECOND: My point here is, maybe if we had less servers, the tf2 population would be condensed into keeping a littler amount of servers fuller - longer. If we had only a 24/7 Hydro, would you still play in eGO for the great atmosphere? I would.
Your forget that saigns uses a mod which speeds up the game, it also makes it such that any player can come on and try out premium accounts for, think infinite ammo, infinite cloak, double move speed, +50 health per kill, all that.
Hydro is a crap map, why should we have it on our servers?
Euro server means there is no 24/7 hydro in US times, so surely the US players enjoy hate the god awful 120 ping they get in EU servers would play in a US 24/7 hydro. (Yey 200 ping on all eGO servers for me!)
"Hydro is a crap map" How often have you played it? Did you say no to it within the first hour or did you play it for a while before making your choice. The map isn't crap, hell, no map is crap. They all just need improved, some more than others. The main "problem" with hydro is all the negativity it gets. If more people put it onto servers, more people would play it, more new players would anyway. (My first map I played was 2fort, it's now my fav map. See how this works?) I get annoyed when people trash talk a map and dont look at the OP. He said that his server got within the 100 rank, so why wouldn't an eGO server get there. The problem with the TF2 division is too many servers. If we had 3, everybody would be fighting to get in those three, if people enjoy eGO for it's atmosphere then surely people of eGO would play hydro, rather than wait an hour to get into another of the servers. I'd love to see eGO have 24 man servers, with all the maps original settings, of different maps.
(Say, 1 2fort, 1 badlands, 1 granary, 1 dustbowl, 1 blackmesa, 1 goldrush)
24 man servers I find are better than 32 man, mainly because many computers take a performance hit when they pass 24 man. It becomes more spammy after 24 man, and it generally unbalances the game somewhat.
That's because anything over 24 man is a spam match.
Look at the servers you've suggested, that alone tells me your level of play, if we're going to raise the playstandards, we should be having more Gravelpit, and Well...
The only reason Hydro gets all the negativity is because almost all of that negativity is well backed up with evidence to show it, it's not us flaming the map, it's the Hydro players in denial that the map they play is heavily imbalanced and runs into spamfests with chokepoints all around.
Speaking as a player with competitive experience, I'll tell you there's a reason Hydro's not a competitive map... I'll leave you to figure it out for yourself.
Hydro descends into a sentry campfest half the time, pseudo-dustbowl 2-2 50% of the time, and a steamroll another 50% of the time, yep, it's 150% of fail.
You want solid statistics, I'll give them to you, why is the valve map server so rarely on Hydro despite mapvoting? Hint: It's not because of rtv...
