How good is "Good"?

Trying to use stat's to measure if a support player is good is pointless.

Where are the stats that shows healing/uber/crit per death?
Where are the stats that shows kills with sentrygun per death?
Where are the stats that show the effective placement of teleporters and dispensers and their level of upgrade?
Where are the stats that show structures sapped per death.

Why do we care if someone is "good"?
I care that I have fun playing with people.
I'm just in it for the grins my buckos.

Skill wise, a high kills-per-minute and ratio is "important".

My KPM is 1.52, and my KDR is over 8.9:1, on average. In-game on TF2, it says my average amount of kills accumulated in a life before dying as Soldier is 9. Same goes with Engineer.

Even though my KPM is only 1.52 (should be well over 1.6, but playing Engineer has decreased it substantially because no one runs into my SG).

I am credit to team. However, this does not really matter a lot in competitive play, though. Practicing on ammomod servers against some of the best soldiers of TF2 helped me a lot.

Also, I hate Kritzkrieg. I am absolutely abysmal with it.

P.S. I've seen people w/ medics with leashes on other players, and they are horrible too, barely making 1.5:1 ratio. (lol)

P.P.S. I play Soldier.

Learn to work as a team

Frisky Dingo hits the nail on the head. If you are the 2nd sniper on a team of 9 you probably aren't helping. If you are a medic that only heals 1 person you probably aren't helping. If you are the only demo and you are camping spawn, you probably aren't helping...

Everyone has a part to play.

if you can kill 2-4 players for every death, your a "good" player.

NOW, there are some factors that can inflate that number without actually being "better" than a "good" player, crit ubers.

...unless your a pyro or a heavy, if you cant kill 2-4 as either...don't worry about being good, just worry about being better

This is a good discussion.

The players who contributes, in a meaningful way, to the goal through teamwork is the best player.

K/D ratio is generally higher for the best players, but there are many cases where K/D ratio is meaningless (i.e. medics).

If you want to be a good player, communicate with teamates during the match about objectives, and be part of those objectives.

Oh, last but not least, if you are waiting for the setup, do not injure yourself for a faster uber. There is plenty of time for me to uber you, plenty.
