To everyone that thinks that the AWP is a noobish, bad weapon... please practice and actually try to either use it or learn to counter it correctly. If you're too stubborn to do so, then shush.

The AWP is a weapon that is extremely easy to use if you've trained yourself with the scout effectively. Also if you're good with a pistol, that can help you greatly.
Whenever I go to servers that allow AWP's I usually don't buy one, but pick one up... and do fairly decent with them, since I don't play with one on a regular basis.

It depends on your playing style, but you can always learn and get better at different ones or your current strategies.

On most servers, yes but you can't use it for CAL. I was sad when I was in CAL-O

Also, try going a game with that skin without zooming in.

scout, cuz its lighter and its easier to snipe with. Becuz with the awp, if you hit them in the leg you have to wait to reload and crap. But with the scout you do the auto switch and its a lot faster for the scout than the awp to do that with.

theres noob awpers and pro awpers and if u see a pro awper their reaction times are insane. so awping does take skill

I like the scout because easy head shots. AWP is not my thing, tho I can use it just not as well as I can with the scout. If you can scout you can awp, and the same way. Really the both take skill.

There's 95% chance to get a kill with an awp.
Awp take reflexes,timing,aim and patience.
Pro's use awp not scout because with the scout you have to rely on a good headshot or 2-3 shots.
The Awp is considered a "noob" gun only because its powerful, Like the auto shotty.
When running with the scout its faster than with the knife/ So is a good gun in open areas.


With the scout its vital you take them out quickly or there going to kill you, Because if they have an M4 or AK and you have a scout they have the better chance of victory.
Id say it depends on the map.Lots of space,Open map = Scout because you can shoot quicker move faster, hence less chance getting shot and is far more accurate and accuracy in open areas is vital
Whilst "medium" close quarters area (Office) are good for awp because you can take them out quickly and efficiently.
