AWP vs. Scout

Thats a good analysis JunK. I definitely prefer the scout... in fact even when the awp is available i use the scout. Its feels awesome to scout an awper right in the face lol. They get so angry and frustrated... If your really good/have a really good reaction time you can out snipe an amateur awper no problem :D

tho i think everybody in this forum knows i prefer the scout over awp, even during scrims or whatever.
not that i can't awp, i just like the scout better...it gives me a sense of challenge and almost forces me to do better. when i use the awp i feel my skills diminish with sniping, because i stop aiming for the head (since i don't have to)

though my skills are really gonna diminish through the time its going to take me to get my computer back to working order :S

the scout has the plus side of being able to shift walk and still have 100 % accuracy and a little bit of speed. also the scout allows you to strafe and stop for split second shots with more accuracy than the AWP.....yet the AWP allows for you to cover a given area and not have a problem. doing one body shot changeing guns or "qq" then shooting someone elce in the body is a breeze with the AWP. yet when you have the scout it makes it so you need to haev skill to use it. head shots are essesncial with scout. i prefer the AWP cause im a noob and shooting someone in the body is just as good as shooting them in the head so i dont see a point, if you kill them you kill them. but when most eGO servers dont allow AWPs you get used to scouting real fast.

the funniest and yet confusing thing i find in this game is when people think the scout is 100% accurate, have you ever used the scout?? seriously
and skillbox, yes ppl can get headshots with the awp just the same as the scout, but they don't...why? because its harder to aim for the small head than it is their entire body, thats the point. with scout you basically have to aim for the head if you want to be any good

browse fbg stats and see what the headshot % is on the majority of ppl that use the awp, and the scout. scout will be up in the .600 area (60%) and awp will be in the .200-300 area (20-30%). point proven.
use the awp if you want to aim for their body/left arm or whatever, use the scout if you're good at sniping and can aim for the head.

Another good point JunK. Awpsoleet, essentially the number 1 awper on FBG at least kill wise has a hs ratio of .198 with the awp... pretty crappy hs ratio eh? while the number one scouter killwise has ratio of .754 with a scout a very good hs ratio by most peoples standards. Basically if u don't aim for the head with a scout you're not going to do all that well. However this isn't always the case. I've seen people who are scouting be first in the server and only have about 30% of their kills be head shots. I guess it just depends on the player for the most part.

ya you can sometimes get away with it, for instance if its late in the round, most likely everybody is damage some, or if there is a huge rush of terrorists and theres nades/other people shooting and crap, if you shoot at them most likely a chest shot will kill.
so you can obviously get kills without headshots, but i personally don't like to leave any doubt, so i always aim for the head. and anybody i teach on how to use the scout i tell to aim for the head.
you'll most likely miss low, meaning a chest shot anyway

EDIT: i just read some other posts, wanted to make some other comments. i dunno what people are talking about saying awp is hard because of the recoil, what recoil? when you shoot, the person is dead, the scope comes back up to wherever you were aiming before...there is essentially no recoil because of the time between shots, same with the scout....rofl
also i think it was slooker that summed it up best, saying for pure killing power to obliterate a team, there is no better gun than an awp. and its true, why? because its easy to get kills with the awp, it isn't as easy with the scout.

even more to add,
theres noob awpers and pro awpers and if u see a pro awper their reaction times are insane. so awping does take skill
reflexes/reaction time is not a skill, everybody can have it if they put their entire life into this game and care about nothing else, basically.

but im going to sum this up right now. if you want to be a great sniper, start off with the scout. if you get really good with the scout, you'll find the awp so much easier, and will be able to pwn with it even more. scouting will polish your sniping skills, easily.
1) a first time player comes into the game, buys a scout, gets 3 headshots in 1 round.
2) a first time player comes into the game, buys an awp, kills 3 players with arm/body/chest shots

which do you think is more likely? personally, the second one, especially since you need to think...a newbie isn't going to be running while shooting, hell they usually crouch, so somebody is running towards them shooting at them or something, they are not moving, meaning the awp is 100% accurate and yes they get the kill. I've actually had this happen many times, where i've witnessed first time players get a few kills with the awp right off the bat. you do not need sniping skill or experience to be decent with the awp. you won't be great, but you can get by. THIS is why its called the noob tube, because new players can use it just fine without even knowing what they are doing, because its that easy to use. you stop, point, shoot.

I like the awp better because its a 1 hit kill and the scout takes more hits to kill

Hmm... i guess if u think about it. The players i mentioned earlier who were first on the server with 30% scout head shots may be awpers who are playing on an eGO server :P Since the awp is restricted they may settle for a scout instead and only hit the chest, since that is what they are used to aiming at. I always aim for the head, no matter what weapon lol. Sometimes its my downfall. i hate it when i just barely miss the head and they kill me. Once i get to spectating them i find that they had less that 60 health, which is the average damage for a body shot with the scout. That really grinds my gears lol.

i dont know if you have realized but every gun in the game is just stop, point, shoot.

Oh really? The world of CSS somewhat confuses me somewhat....

A pro using a noobish one hit kill weapon...

bah, I don't want to go into this argument for the 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000(stopped here to stop spam)th time.

Noobish and cheap are different beats my friend.

Awp=very accurate when standing still, and in CSS, standing still is a very easy condition to meet if you have fast reflexes like the CSS pros. Therefor the logical conclusion is that a mobile AWPER with as much accuracy as a mobile scout (in terms of player skill), an awper gives more room for slight misses (a chest will still kill).
