Why eGO is a good place to learn

Very good :) I enjoyed the read. I've been here since about February and I also have noticed that i think more about what I say, instead of just blurting it out. I've learned to think about what i say, in game and in real life. Thanks :D

I know that many of you know that people leave eGO for various reasons. But those reasons are for personal failures that they have. Don't allow yourself to leave eGO and leave great opportunity to learn and change your reality.
Personal FAILURES? ...
I don't know if I could agree with that in the slightest. I've left CS:S for months on end for simple things like being school related. I also know that some people leave because they're having a kid... and many other reasons. I wouldn't call those failures at all, but more of a success and nothing less.

The only way that CS:S, eGO, or any video game has changed my real life is that it takes time from my other social events. I still give myself more than enough time for these, but I do take away a decent amount. Other than that, I've always been pretty much the same... call me stubborn, but I don't think online and reality interconnect too much.

Anyways nice post, I'm not trying to read between the lines or anything... It just came up in my mind while I read this and I figured I'd reply. Not trying to kill anything for you ;) But I do like to keep things on a "realistic" level, many people in life think I'm an ass for the way I think and do things, but others would agree with that, but also say that I've got a very good way of viewing things and not just "whacking around the bush" sort of method. If I've got a problem with someone, they typically know. :) (no need to worry GreenTea)

Right I wasn't quite sure how to word what I wanted to say, but I can assure you I don't mean what I think you think it means. Sorry for the confusion. I meant that the people who leave because of the sole reason that they hate the rules or think they are being unfairly banned/kicked/punished.

Good point you are making on the small relationship between reality and virtual reality. I sort of agree with you but at the same time don't. You see in my eyes we have reality. Then in reality you create a game called CSS and make an artificial world/universe, a virtual reality if you will. Now all elements of this vurtual reality is 100% based on reality. There is this theory that I would like to throw out there It goes like this: everything that the brain can comprehenf and create from imagination (such as time traveling, space traveling, stuff in movies, stuff in science fiction, anything that we would think of as impossible, etc...) is actually possible because we have the power to create it in our minds and thus it is POSSIBLE to create such things. This now leads us back to virtual reality vs. reality. Because virtual reality is created in reality, there is a strong connection between what occurs within the virtual reality and reality itself. There is 100% correlation and causation between the two. The theory that I threw in there supports my idea. Because we have thought of virtual reality and created it, it now depends upon reality. Think of it like an independent and dependent variables. Virtual Reality depends upon reality to be created and sustained. Thus virtual reality reflects reality and thus we have this learning curve that I talk about.

Even though it isn't real, we still gain experience from virtual reality and thus socialization, learning of manners, etc all can be gained from virtual reality. Placebo Effect also comes into play here to. When you give someone a sugar pill and tell them that they will be cured and they become cured then that means the pill or rather the belief that the pill will cure them is in itself a virtual reality because it's effect is not real. But he/she/it is cured (reality) and so doesn't this also prove my theory?

You might not notice it at all and what you interpret as "only taking up parts of my social life" is probably (100% guarantee) much more than just that.

Also, don't worry about "bashing my post" or anything like that. I believe that questioning everything is good. Really good. Which also pisses teachers off because it justifies you always asking "Why?" like little kids do endlessly.

!up Greentea

I actually have had a terrible history swearing / insulting other people as I've grown up playing this insanely addictive game. I would have loved to have a tribe like eGO there for me to show me what's right and wrong. I now believe in the morales and standards they set for the players on their server and it helps remind me of how I want to act and treat people. I've played with many different gaming communities in my past, but this is by far my home for good.

usually people who get banned that are e's, so i have heard, said that they get tired of eGO and the way we handle things. But i love it here. It my home away from home

Nice way to back yourself up there GreenTea.

I think you can rant all you want about the idea's of virtual reality and reality being correlated with one another and I still wouldn't agree with you though ;) You sound like you'd be a good spokes"person" at defending the argument that games create violent children, etc etc... Now I won't get into all that, just felt like adding that :P (I don't want to read you're views on that either, lol)

Oh, and about 1/2 of my teachers throughout life have hated me. :) So I know the feeling, I might not do the most obnoxious things, but it's enough to tip people over the edge most of the time, lol. Nice response.

I wanted to chime in and thank you for taking the time to compile such a well thought out post. While I consider myself a mature individual I do have a strong tendency to punctuate my speech with profanity, and I owe eGO a debt for helping me to rid (or at least curtail) myself of that habit.

This game nay this CLAN allows us to be role models toward other people in the clan and as well builds leadership skills in real life.
