Free programs that are worth it? No. Not really.
But GIMP is basically photoshop after some program tornado. Everything is kinda backwards compared. But the best way to learn the program is watching videos and reading (good) tutorials.

I'm helping you 3sev3n, yes but I use Photoshop CS3 So I'm helping the best I can! XD

Well, I would have changed the blue to something a long the lines of orange, or a orange red. I'm not the biggest fan of lots of grey. I like colors The text at first was a lil confusing I would have moved the render a lil to the left. Overall it's unfinished. But like I've said (I think in another thread) art is never done, always more you can do to it.

Well, just depends on how many steps you take. Some sigs look great when it's a few real easy steps. Basically just depends on what your goal is for the signature. I always base my signatures around the render. Always, and I rarely use C4D's. Mainly because they never look right to me.

Have you been watching videos? Or looking at tutorials?

Btw, did you see the signatures I whipped up yesterday? They're in the rate my sig thing.

The render flame? Thank ya, well I'd open it up, and I'd probably be bored that's how much I could keep up lol. But I just have problems with it. Like I tend to only do signatures when I want, and sometimes that's not for like a week at a time. So say I don't feel like doing a sig, I tend to make a bad sig XD it's how it goes with me.

Keep on watching videos and learning from other forms of tutorials. Sometimes, if you come to a dead end, just change up some things from tutorials or start blending in other things you learned and stuff. I can tell you, if I watch a tutorial now, I just watch the video, or look it over and then kinda mix it in with my own knowledge. So it stays unique

Well, I'm not really into the flat grey city scape, but I do like the idea. I wish you would animate the lil' flare would look kinda cool moving across his gun. The big ol' round thing in the background kinda is out of place :{

You should have put the render layer over the city scape layer Would have made it a lil better on that part. But I'd give you a 7/10

I think you've been forcing your idea's a lot. Instead of coming naturally. You know? Kinda stressing over it instead of having fun. A good exercise is to actually get completely away from signatures. Do like a photo manipulation. Or edit a persons face. I started out with just crazy lil flower designs on photoshop 7! Then I started to working on peoples faces. Then signatures. I've had big breaks in between or I would be a lot better. But my point is, don't force it, have fun with it. Some times take breaks and like fix a persons face (Zit's, eye color, make-up) It's amazing the things you can learn and apply to your signature from that!

Sorry to interupt but Celtic is right, solidly making sigs drains you. I spent some time changing the stripes on a zebra to a multi-coloured rainbow to help refresh my mind (for example). Find something else to do in between "creative bursts" so that your mind remains stimulated and supple :laugh:

The text looks kinda blurred to me.
Im not sure..but it looks like the car doesnt really fit there??is it me or..
but nice job, your getting the overall image of Photoshop or Gimp.

Maybe you should shrink the car a little because the tunnel is kind of little, but that's just my opinion.

Glad you used a border I'd like to see the car a little smaller, and actually turned around maybe? So you see the back bumper of the car instead. But either angle looks good. Don't make the shadow of the car as dark. The tunnel has a bunch of lights.

You could work in a light reflection into the walls.

The text doesn't seem quite graffiti. It's more like a huge sticker with a little shadow. Here's a link to a decent tutorial on graffiti in GIMP

thx Im gonna use that tonight and love your new sig man its sweet and the celtic on it hands down some of the best work, well I made a pop out sig just to try it took me about 10 min just to get the jist of it did not resize it yet
