Jail server ideas

Jail maps need less mini games and needs them to be spread out more. Having maps just full of them with no way of rebelling and escaping are NOT jail maps. Plus only like 3 games are used on maps with tons of games or just games.

Jail isn't about playing mini games, people freak out when they die by them or loose in a game cause the CTs fail to pay attention. This is Jail... YOU ARE TO REBEL... Id rather die with knife damage to a CT, knife kill, or a killing streak then by some dumb game.

Valve broke bombs, well weapon stripping. Terrorists shouldn't spawn with them but they do. Sucks but they do. Sure they plant but they're trolling their team when they plant that fast. Bear could add something to his plug in to strip them of their weapons (bomb) but thats more work plus Valve can easily fix that but probably wont.

So maps should be based on escaping, rebelling and destroying the prison thats what jails been since the beginning and thats what started the craze. It was more strategy and teamwork than original CS game modes. Games were added to move the Terrorists around to allow them new escape routes and means of rebelling. Having them too close to cell block and also too close to each other equals boring play of games. I mean sure they can be fun but you can go play a mini game map that does same... Seems jails headed that way based on some of the maps lately...

Jail is about one team controlling the other, thats it. If the T's dont want to listen to the CT's, they dont have to and can rebel appropriately. Whether or not there is mini games makes no difference. Our server is about making things fun for everyone. Some people like mini games, some dont. Doesnt change the gameplay. I dont speak for everyone, the numbers do.

I had a rebel on canyon today, and all of the t's rushed into armory under it. There was one ct guarding it and it ended up I was the only one to go up there the rest camped and tried to hide.

Jail isn't like it used to be -.-

Jail isn't like when we were on prospekt or forest...shame.

Although you have a very valid point, numbers do not lie, but I have to disagree with it not changing the gameplay.
Some maps need more areas for a t to rebel. Take me for example, I love a bit of mini game fun, and a bit of rebelling, mixing it up. But there are some maps it is nearly impossible to rebel on, because of the lay out of the maps, and I feel map lay out really DOES change the gameplay.
Take for example, a map with a lot of mini games crammed into a small space. It is nearly impossible to truly rebel on them as everything is so packed together, and it doesn't give the t's who actually want to rebel and die from that, a chance. Thus changing the gameplay. I personally love a mix of a bit of mini gaming and a bit of rebelling.
If you get what I am trying to say :-)

Hmmm... numbers... Prospekt has seen a full server a number of times as with other rebel oriented maps. If people didn't like them why would they continue to play on the server and not leave. There are a lot of people who enjoy rebelling rather than just games...

Personally, I would love to see more exploding t's in jail. Nothing would bring me more happiness than exploding t's running about ^.^

This is 100% right, cant disagree with you on this.

Numbers as in how many times the map is picked to be played. Not how many people play on it at the time.

This can go back and forth all day. People like different things which is good when we have different styles of maps to play.

How many times its picked... Dont think that shows anything as a majority of the server spams '1' to just close the menu.

Also, the maps did have some games they just weren't full of them nor crammed together.

Honestly, I have been playing jail for 2 years. I haven't been here for 5 years or when jail was in it's "glory" days when there were no minigames. But as for me, I enjoy playing minigames instead of playing soccer, races, simon says, every round. You can go ahead and say I have no imagination and not creative and I will admit it. But with constraints on rules there is NOTHING to do on the maps. If I owned a jail obviously I wouldn't have a Disco or climb or any kind of crap like that. But I'd make them do minigames. Not just say "jump up and down" and crap like that. Even if it takes away from the point of jail, minigames are fun and don't get boring. If we had maps like prospekt every single rotation, I guarantee you the numbers would go down big.
Edit: But I guess Christy was talking about different kinds of numbers. I'm talking about population though

Why are we all hating on other peoples maps? Every map is different, every map has its pro's and con's in other peoples views, you can't please everyone. I guarantee if you have ANY 1 map type on rotation, with the same things to do over and over, numbers would go down big. Thats just common knowledge, people love change.
Minigames are fun, and some times they do not get boring, but I think a nice mix of being able to rebel AND have minigames would be nice. Big open spaces, dark corners, vents, hiding holes for those pesky t's, then near that.. I dont know... A climb or something! BOOM
Problem solved.
Lets not hate on other peoples work, they did so we can go onto them and enjoy them.
Spread the love fellow jailers x

Agreed lets get back on topic.

Anyways -- We are adding a syntax update and blackops back. Plus we will be adding Rogue and Christy's new maps at a later date. Myself and the rest of the leadership team, try to present a good balanced environment where we let the players choose which map comes next and we encourage everyone to try a map at least once.

This is exactly why we increased the rtv limit so that there would be more variety. Once we stop being attacked constantly the RTV limit will be more important.

Overall -- I'm pretty pleased with the way the jail server rules, I highly encourage admins to make use of the suggestion threads in eG/eGO private.

I believe we should have trivia back and have opinionated days added into the game, But the opinionated days are optional any t can sit out. It adds a little but of fun to the game while also giving the t's who dont want to play a chance to rebel by running off when they arent paying attention

I think that we need trivia back on a limit of every four rounds.

Black ops- I loved that map :D

I remember maybe two years ago on black ops we could go around the map looking for the flaming skulls. I know it was used with kiegens thing, but is it possible to have that re added?

I also feel that we should look for some maps on game banana, there are some pretty decent ones on them.

Yes Trivia, but only questions that even no-brainers like me could answer. Or just do multiple choice questions
