So not only will you be able to play for free starting now, but the game is also on sale for 75% off (only $5). Found out that only the Wolfpack DLC is 75% off as well, but thats only $2.50 so thats worth it in my opinion. So for those of you who have been waiting to get the name, now is the time!

The Steam Group
Description:
Payday Supporters - rewarding helpful fans
NOTE 1: WE DO NOT ACCEPT APPLICATIONS OR SELF NOMINATIONS FOR THIS GROUP. If you have to ask what to do to get into this group, then you are trying to get into the group for the wrong reasons. This group is for rewarding awesome fan work, not for giving masks to people who are only interested in "getting that cool ice hockey mask".
NOTE 2: Users who beg or nag the group moderators about invites to this group only RISK GETTING BLOCKED from group moderators and subsequently LOWER THEIR CHANCES OF EVER GETTING INTO THIS GROUP.
Group description: This is an invite-only group for people that we at Overkill Software think have contributed greatly to the Payday community or spread the word about Payday to the public in an ambitious and/or innovative way.
Things that people have done that have granted them invites to the group include long-time presense and helpfulness on the Payday Steam forum, Payday cosplay (visiting game expo dressed up as Payday characters), making awesome YouTube videos that attract a lot of attention.
NOTE 3: Doing something on the above list does NOT guarantee an invite to this group - the list is only a description of what people have done SO FAR to get into the group. If you repeat someone else's idea with the intention to get an invite to this group, then step up the game and do it even better and more ambitious than it's been done before! Impress us! Show us how much you enjoy Payday and its great community!
Membership in this group grants access to the unique "Supporter Crew" ice hockey mask (see group avatar) in Payday: The Heist.
WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR PASSION FOR PAYDAY AND ITS COMMUNITY!"

I have to say I'm thankful they decided to do a free weekend of the game. I've been interested in it since it was first put up on Steam, but without a demo I was horribly skeptical about shelling out $20 for a game that I might not personally like/enjoy. Same thing went on with Killing Floor and me: a lot of high ranking praise for the game, but after playing its free weekend I found it just wasn't a game I particularly enjoyed.
Now hopefully I get some time to play it this weekend instead of being swamped like I have been the last couple weeks...

For those of you who are just new getting into the game, I believe that you will enjoy it. If you do enjoy it enough, please consider getting it while its 75% off. It really is a great game & I enjoy playing it immensely. I just recently got to rep 100. I believe the rep max w/o the dlc is 146 (somewhere round there) & w/ the dlc its 190 or somewhere round there. Dont quote me on those stats tho. Btw, this game is nothing like Killing Floor. Imho, this game is way better than KF. In fact, I stopped playing KF like months ago.
