Signatures

Good evening my fellow eGO members and friends,

I come to you today with something tragic. It involves the signatures of many of you. Yes, it's true. Some of you have signatures that take up 3/4 of the space on my monitor. And my monitor really isn't that small, either. I appreciate that we all like images in our signature, I mean, hey, I do, too! But we gotta draw a line somewhere.

Really, who wants to see many posts with one line of text and somewhere along 15 lines worth of signature stuff? It's just not necessary, and it's annoying, too.

I hate to be a bother about it, but it just gives me a headache. So I ask you, my friends, can we please have some sanity with the signatures? It's for the good of all of us!

Why not just up your Resolution?

How do you play TF2 on that resolution? The HUD would eat a quarter of the screen!

Resolution is 1440 by 900. Don't believe it goes higher than that with this monitor.

EDIT: And neither of you have a signature that's excessively large. Thor's might be getting close, but I can live with it. It's when the sigs have the Steam sig, the HLStats sig, and the eGO sig that it's annoying (yes, there are people on here who have those).

My monitor here at work is 1440 by 900 and my firefox isn't even maximized and I've only see one sig that I considered too much.

Well, I mean, most of us are alright... it's those of us with multiple images in their sigs who are ruining the day for me.

Maybe there's a way to turn off sigs.

We have the general eGO signature guidelines set to 540 x 150 px. Yes, there are a few members who's are just a bit larger but it's nothing noticeable. As long as it's not causing the forum to expand or delaying the load times there isn't really a problem.

If we use 540 x 150, that's fine. Your is a bit over THAT, but it isn't an oversized sig. It's fine, really. Honestly, if there's going to be a big image, there shouldn't be more than that, other than a line or two of text.

EDIT: Oh, and keep in mind, guys... I'm not trying to be a jerk about it. I'm really not. It's just that I use forums to read stuff, not see someone's overloaded signature several times on one page. It just makes it harder to read the stuff I want to read, is all.

EDIT THE SECOND: And the ones that really bother me are the ones that just stack one small image after another until it becomes a not-so-small annoyance. You know the kind. The ones of who killed who with what. Over and over. Why don't we just have a forum topic for posting those?

Now Laf, it may be something like that. Having a bunch of things in your sig isn't good either if they're big (small things won't matter much, as long as they are properly arranged), but having giant signatures is the problem. I like to read more content than signature, not the other way around.

The ones that are a bit too large will be asked to size them down.

If you play on to high of resolution wouldn't it be like, you'd only see like a quester of the screen?

I've seen people with sigs like that take up half the screen i hate it\!! Only i think 500X250? pixels... big... but not sure...
