Yes, sorry to say Kpo, you must have been a part of the regular members and pubs who populated that server. I will expand on what Firehazard mentioned. For some reason, the members and regulars who were on that server every day just stopped playing, all at the same time. We, as Rangers, would try and try and try to get it full. That map, when full, was a lot of fun, I enjoyed it myself. What was NOT enjoyable, was joining the server, with 2 axis and 0 allies, and one in spec. I would have to go allies, and as soon as I did, the spec jumped on axis. So now there is an MG in each bunker and a sniper on top of the hill, with little ol' me as target practice. Maybe one or two people would show up, get mowed down on the beach right away and then leave. It was exasperating. We even tried to limit the classes until it reached a certain number of players, and even that failed. IMO, it was the habits of the regular axis players and inactivity of regulars that ultimately forced the decision to trade Strand and Anzio, which had its own problems, for a Rotation server. Strand was kept on as one of the choices at voting time. For example, say we got Rotation half full, 8v8, and the map switched to strand, within minutes we are all of a sudden 2v2, if not completely empty.
I miss it sometimes, and have been thinking about making it an event, perhaps twice a month. Keep an eye out for the weekly events thread, as Im afraid that will be the only way we can pull it off.
See ya around!
