Doom was my first, also it was the first game I ever played vs. another person. We had to get a serial cable and connect 2 PC's together, that was such a pain. Than Quake came out and I was addicted. Played in 800x600 with lowest quality settings, getting 14 FPS on a 14.4 Baud US Robotics dial up modem with a 250 ping and not using a mouse whatsoever. I was so addicted I almost got kicked out of school and who knows how many girlfriends I lost. I had a T1 installed in my house just so i could get sub 100 ping, thats just sad. I ended up getting sponsored for a while and played in tournaments and won the first OGL and quakeconn competitions. I helped start up a clan that was arguably the best 6vs6 at the time. My clan bros included a guy that helped start Valve software, owner of shacknews.com, a developer for ID software (quake creators) and fatal1ty. After that i had a short stint with Tribes and than played UT like it was my religion. That when the online stats system was really new, i played UT so mush i was ranked top 5 in DM, TDM, CTF and one other I cant think of right now. After nearly losing my job I decided I needed to quit playing so that lasted about a week and i decided to just quit playing FPS and switched to mmorpg. I played Dark Ages of Camelot basically for 4 1/2 years. My friend turned me onto TF2 and ever since I been addicted.
