No.

They tried this with WoW, that fell through, they tried it with Halo. They realized it was a bad idea. Rumor has it they're going to try a Bioshock movie.

Games do not make good movies.

Tomb Raider was only successful because they got a hot chick.

Oh come on, who here didn't like Doom!??!?!?! Greatest movie ever made in my op.

*insert heavy sarcasm link*

But honestly, Mark Walburg (sp?) seems like a good choice and even if it doesn't follow the plot line of the actual game the "mythos" of the actual game i.e. before it all happened, after the death happened, etc is up to interpretation. (now granted i haven't played max payne 2)

You know what happens when video games make the trip to the big screen = failure...

The games were flippin awesome, I can't wait to see the movie. I don't expect it to follow the game at all, though. Hitman the movie didn't, but it still turned out pretty awesome.

Seems the film does not follow the game at all.

It does, and i'll tell you some things.

-Mona Sax

-His Demons you actually see. In the game, whenever he was drugged of Valkyr, his demons would start to come out. In this, instead of him speaking about it, you actually see his Demons. Of course they're a metaphor.

-The narration. Judging by the 2 trailers i've seen, it seems that they're still following the godlike narration. I personally think Whalberg is the best choice for Max Payne.

-He's still got his "Super Hero" trait. Of course he's not one, but you get the point.

-They have NUMEROUS references about Valkyrie. I assume that Valkyrie plays a large roll in the movie, just like it did in the games.

-Jack Lupino, (The dude who was all satanic), is in it.

-Max Payne running into his house with a gun only to find his wife dead in the bed is in it, as well as Max seeing his dead baby.

-In part of the trailer, it shows him ontop of a helipad which is where Max Payne 1 left off at.

-And finally the last part i noticed in a 2 minute trailer, is he's followed by the cops all over the city.

I've played and beat the first Max Payne. The movie does follow the game at points. The movie looks good and I enjoyed Doom.

Saw the preview. Never played any of the games. Looks really good. Mark Wahlberg is awesome.

Can anyone say sentence fluency?

Since i love the Max Payne games so much...i will watch this in the cinema...regardless of whatever reviews it gets. :o

I liked the movie Doom, but I was disappointed with the way they watered down the story by making it about genetic research instead of accidentally opening teleporters to hell.

I loved both Max Payne and Max Payne 2. I hope the movie is good and follows the game somewhat. Mark Wahlberg was an excellent choice to play Max Payne.

On a side note, any one else find it a little erie to play Max Payne sometimes, because they show still shots of the WTC?

I'll watch it for sure but I'm not having high hopes for it.

I cannot take any of the cast from "That 70's Show" seriously in a movie.

Spider Man 3, that little weakling was not a good fit.
The red head was in a movie too, I don't remember it. That is how insiginificant the movie was to me.
Kuther in "The Guardian" ummmm.......... riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Its 1 person. With one of the greatest actors in this generation.

Played the game, liked it, noticed some very direct translations of game scenes to the film, hoping for the best, expecting it to be marginal.

Too many stinker adaptations of games have left me just a WEEE bit jaded about them.
