Admin Classes!

I need to know when the next CS:S school is up ?

i cant say all admin classes are equal but id assume they are at least similar. that being said the admin class i took (under tiddy) gets a 10

I hope so. Even though I was an admin on my old clans servers for 4 years there is always more to learn.

Admin School helped me.

Yes, admin school taught me many new things that have helped me in several situations already. My house leaders, along with the admin forums, gave me a very good background, and admin school helped bring a lot of it together.

Personally, I was impressed by the seriousness. "Punk Free" and the like have all been said but never actually practiced. It's refreshing to see that level of maturity, and commitment. And not to mention Respawn still kept his commitment,after a hell of a day, and expressed an integrity level that we should all follow as fresh grown G's, without complaint.

Integrity, that is what makes a good admin. Anyone can bind commands.

Absolutely you can, Rovert! Anyone who would like a refresher is more than welcome to attend. We've even had several members of Leadership attend refresher courses.

All you need to do is to find a class that's scheduled and sign up for it. If you do this, please be sure to note that this will be a refresher, as priority is given to those who have been newly promoted to eG, and those who have been instructed by Leadership to attend another class.

I have been a server admin many times before. On a scale of 10, they helped me a 5/10. Most of the stuff I already knew, but some thing like condump, sm_who and etc are all new to me.

If I was never an admin, I would totally be informed about this. Our school is the best, and beats someone just handing you admin.

I would say 10. After going over things the players can ask questions that they feel they are fuzzy on which I did and it helped me understand everything I didnt get.

this reminds me alot of what they started doing at work. when you would make supervisor they would just throw you into it and basically say "good luck" this created alot of problems, extra stresses, and alot of people would demote or quit because of it. Then they started a Supervisor's Training school and since then its given alot of new supervisors that extra little boost to get ready to be supervisors...
and thats what this does too. Gives us a little bit of real world (read: in-game) experience that you just don't get by reading about sm_ commands.
yeah reading it all is important. but hearing about it from someone else helps alot.

The class I attended was very good and I learned a ton. However, while I was an admin I did see some other admins not following the warn first, kick second. Most of them were eGO's, maybe you should consider having everyone who is promoted to eGO take a refresher class before they get their O.

When I went to one of the first ones for TF2 I would say about a 4-5 because I learned how to record demos but everything else had been explained before. We'll see how the CSS one goes shortly. I do think its great for just advanced e's that have no idea what going on.

I would give it a 9 being highly critical. Admin school is excellent and helps clarify many gray areas that can occur and where eGO's stance is. The rest can be found in stickies by way of commands, etc., but the way Monkeybits, Purple, Tiddy, Laffiness etc. down the road (please excuse me as I know I have left others out) have developed the school is really great to show where our stance is and how the servers should be run if need be.

Anyone know about it?
