Jail Trivia Suggestion

The way trivia is done now leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Team mates competing against eachother and then choosing their own to die? I think trivia can be done alot better, and alot funner. I call it...

Wyald Style Trivia(or not)

Wut.

Instead of having the Terrorists playing against eachother, have them work together as a team to answer trivia. There are three rounds of trivia, with hard questions that people may not be able to answer. If someone gets it right, nobody dies. After about 20-30 seconds, if nobody does, the T's are decimated. You might want to go as low as 10 seconds to stop googlers.

The general goal is to just have the T's remain a team.

---

Remember, as you have to ask 3 questions, you might want to think them up beforehand. Examples of good questions (examples only, don't use these):

Q: This natural New Hampshire land mark featured on their state license plate collapsed in 2003.
A: Old Man of the Mountain

Q: Who plays Doctor John Dorian on TV's Scrubs?
A: Zach Braff

Q: This protective equipment featured in CS 1.6 is not in CS:S
A: Tactical Shield

The idea is to make them hard, but not exactly Mensa hard. People need to be stumped in order for this to work.

---

Okay, but who dies when they can't answer?

Have the T's line up as usual. Give a order to not move. Afterwards, explain how trivia will be played, and tell them who will die. Be fair with it, and do not mark specific people for death based on a vendetta. Use a pattern. Examples:

Starting from the left or right.
Every other player starting from left or right.
Every 3rd player starting from the left or right.
A specific model of player starting from left or right.

---

How many should die?

I'm going tell you up front. This trivia is obviously gonna take longer than normal trivia. Therefore more people should have a chance of dying. But remember, theres also a chance that nobody will die, and you'll have to move on to another activity. T's will have more of a chance to rebel, as they should. They did win, afterall. If this happens, just remember that if nobody died, nobody is waiting to respawn.

The proposed formula:

([Total number of T's] / 2) / 3 = How many should die during a single wrong question.

Note that I havn't been in school for yeeeeeeeeears, so this formula might not be displayed correctly. In words, basically divide the T players in half, and then divide that by 3. That means if theres 20 T's, then 3 should die, and if all questions are answered wrong, then half of the T team should be left.

---

Example of how you should explain the rules:

"[Name] will ask a question. If one of you gets the question right, then you all live. But if nobody can give the right answer in [time], then [number of players] will die, starting from [method you chose]. This will be done 3 times."

---

I hope this proposal is considered and adopted by some of you. You may change the rules as long as it's explained coherently and done fairly.

Jail is all about doing something fun with prisoners, but I'll try you trivia when I have time to warden.

I agree. I'm just offering a fix for something that doesn't quite make sense to me.

Well to start I must say that this is a very good idea and it could potentially work...

The idea that you have proposed about the Ts dieing is a thing that i could approve of... As the normal regime of Ts coming out and knifing or typing the name normally leaves to some poor blind fool getting knifed in the back for he has lag or just is focusing too much on the Ts because he would like to kill them and get up the ranks...
...This is idea can easily be done well if they are told not too move they would not have a chance to change formation after you have said what the dieing formation will be, this also stop a T moving around if the T who got it right typed the name and he saw and then just moved through his Ts so they have a chance of dieing too....

If you can see different quotes in the main quote then you could see that i have also highlighted the formula.

This is again a good idea in my eyes as this is a good mathmatical way of killing them off rather than a CT saying that 3 will die when there are about 25 because that would take a while, although you will always get around the number of 2,3,4 rather than someone saying 6 because they would like the round to end or they find it more fun to have LR with a T and they would only want to S4S with the man.

And just to finish I think if people have not understood this thread fully then the textual example is just a good one which shows how it should be done properly.. But i really on said that cause i wanted too :P

But yeah i generally approve of this idea and i will definetley try it out if i do get the chance.

Erm, your way has them all dieing at once? That's not going to go well, especially those who ask the questions that are extremely tough.

How much money does it take to buy the world?

Well I am guessing a little over 70 trillion dollars, considering the US has a national GDP of 13 trillion and it is the highest. However if you do a reimann sum for the rest of the countries it comes to a little bit over 70 trillion. However if you consider all the debt and world wide chaos going on right now then it would be a lot higher. Also if you want to know the price of everything in it, well then I would have no clue or any economist in the world. Considering all the resources still to be exploited. Not to mention the value of labor of the human race. I just realized this question is waaaay too indepth. Please no more essay questions haha.

Final answer....

Earths estimated GDP 2008 US$70.65 trillion (2008 est.)
Earths estimated liquid capital $54.62 trillion (2008 est.)
Being able to play insurgency.... priceless

Incase you people havn't noticed, I mostly play as a T. This is designed to make it more fun for the T's. A chance that everyone might live, and the fact that you don't have to pick your friends to die.

Like I said, the questions arn't supposed to be unanswerable. The examples I gave are totally answerable. In my eyes, a good warden is not the one that wins all the time, but makes it the most interesting and fun experience for everyone.

And for the rest of you. Yes, I know trivia sucks. It's a fact of life. Yet, there are people that seem to live and die by trivia. I'm tired of having to die in order to disrupt it. I'm just trying to find a system that makes trivia fun to play.

I might try this if I ever play CT in the near future. Good idea.

I'm a crazy good T, and I'm also a good CT, and I think you should rethink you're idea.

Trivia should be just banned from teh games, it is not interesting at all...

Maybe changing the rules as Wyald suggested could make it interesting however, I still think trivia and picking who dies is one of the most boring games ever...

As a matter of fact, Slash and I always kill ourselves when there is trivia.. It's so boring...

There should be a relay death race, or more gun tosses, olympics :) even a shooting range. I doubt one terrorist with an awp can kill the whole ct team.
