why all the rap hate?

what's the point in trying to argue this people have different tastes, and you argument about the words having tones of meaning well rap is not the only style of music like that.

As for the thread, I believe most are wrong.
Those against rap talk about that fraction of a rap song they heard on the radio someday and didn't like. Those against rock/metal talk about that popular metal song played on MTV from time to time.
Music genres are so vast you can't just define a genre because one song, or a band or whatever. Truth is that everyone has their style and their way of making music, and some of them look really similar, but the way they feel it is probably different.
So in the end, there must be a rapper that is more melodic and there must be some metal bands that are more than squeaks. I can vouch for the existance of those bands.

When I hear a rap song on the radio it's usually about sex, drugs, alcohol, money, gangs, trash talking about other rappers in their songs and all that other crap unless I hear a song by of course Eminem or B.O.B. I agree not all rap is about what I listed above but most of it is thats why I don't like it I prefer listening to Rock or Country over anything though :)

There is no opposites in music. It's a sound. That's like saying the opposite of a car is a motorcycle. They have similarities, but they are not opposites.

If you want to hear what real metal is instead of death metal or I can't think of what pig squealing falls under right now, listen to some Testament, Metallica, or Megadeth. If you can't understand what they're saying, you're lying.

I dislike rap for the lyrics, and the beats. And the speed. Most of the time, that is.

It's equally annoying when I hear people blaring metal through their sound systems.

And then it's a metal song I like and it's an entirely different kind of annoying.

Generally, most of the people that "hate" rap/hip-hop are the close-minded people who think that what they play on the radio is a good example. And there's people who think that about every genre. Imagine if rock stopped at Nickelback or metal stopped at Avenged Sevenfold or country stopped at Toby Keith. There's an entire weave of deep, solid music underlying in each genre made by real musicians who love what they make and not what they do.

EDIT: Or, god, if punk stopped a Fall Out Boy.

Most "rap" is now hip hop, autotuned, bit of Soul and electronic beats. I like rap, but I don't like hip hop.

You're welcome. I don't want people to think of metal as pig squealing. That's an annoying sub genre (grindcore, I believe) that has a very small fanbase.
