To be honest nothing will happen in 2012... Its just like the "666". People said it was going to end and yet Im here typing this reply. Sooo nothing will happen 
Also the Mayans dont have that much theories for their prediction... the only reason they set that prediction was because the calendar ends... and in my opinion you could just "restart" the calendar all over again

The Mayan "Prophecy" says that 2012 will be a year of great change....
since it will be the end of a 5000 year galactic cycle, involving the calculations of the modern Calender, that's all.
So all those people going like "They said the world would end etc. etc." just can't read simple, it's not a big whoop, it's indeed like 6/6/06, big whoop... Or ofcourse; 1:23 04/05/06 (Remember that?)
It will just be another year like any other.

I was rather hoping to see a serious conversation. He asked a legitimate question in order to propagate discussion and the majority of the post are just making fun of it. I don't think the world will end, but i do believe something significant has happened. Ill try and find my sources tommorow, and ill link.

No, seriously. Ain't nothing gunna happen in 2012. If the apocalypse is going to happen its not going to have a specific date, that would be a lame apocalypse. An Apocalypse would only be shocking and horrifying if it just came out of nowhere.

Call me a fanatic, but I believe that if, and that's a big if (hurhur), Earth was attacked by aliens, it would end somewhat like War of the Worlds. Actually, likely the same result if humans tried to land on most planets.
The world will be inhabited only by true survivors: gamers and grizzly mountain men.
Anyway, yes, I believe that it does boil down to religion, and without arguing my beliefs I will say this: if you don't have faith in any certain thing, why do you worry about prophecies? You're contradicting yourself. Nothing wrong with starting a discussion, but I don't understand why you worry yourself over a prophecy you don't believe in. Just something you might want to think about, Johnson.

Our calender doesn't end there... lol it ends whenever it ends I don't know but really... all this stuff is in your head from watching to many youtube videos and reading wiki pages. Only two things will end the world.... man or nature... Nothing else will...Nature put us on here for life and has the choice when to take us out and we made stuff that can destroy us and we pick when we can use it to destroy us...
