Lets take into consideration that the mayan caldender runs in cycles. On 2012 that cycle will reach its end. A cycle that has been going on for hundreds and hundreds of years. I think theres room for just a bit of paranioa and speculation. Interestingly, on or about that day, the Earth will be perfectly aligned with the rest of the Solar System, which will happen to be perfectly in line with the Milky Way Galaxy, which will also be aligned with the Galactic Core. Perfect alignment, for the first time in, roughly, 30,000 years. Now... if I am not mistaken, a Mayan Revolution is roughly 30,000 years.

Absolutly nothing is going to happen in 2012 OR 2077. The world is probably going to end when the US (or some other country) declars war on North Korea about the N. Koreans testing Nuclear Missiles......thats probably going to happen in like 2011 or 2010...you never know.
